Timberon, New Mexico is located in the plush Sacramento Mountains 100 miles north of El Paso Texas, 50 miles South Southeast of Alamogordo New Mexico at approximately 7,000′ altitude. Timberon  is a  forested  mountain resort community located high in the mountains of  Southeastern  New Mexico .  It is an ideal community for recreational, weekend, seasonal or even year-round living.

The main road to the community is now also a paved, 4-lane highway with easy access for your RV or camper to Alamogordo and with the beautiful year round climate, the secluded location and the stunning scenery, this is one of New Mexico’s best kept secrets.

Judge Paul Moss purchased the property, now known as Timberon, from the State of New Mexico in 1933. His son, William, married former child movie star, Jane Withers and it is reported that they were frequent visitors here and brought many other Hollywood guests. In March 1969, the land was sold to a group of businessmen who later formed the corporation known as North American Land Development (NALD), which subdivided the property into individual parcels.

Today, Timberon is a secluded, rural getaway that has become a tight-knit community in the mountains. It has a golf course, as well as a beautiful lodge, a pool, a church, an airstrip and a volunteer fire department. The residents consider it a retirement and resort community.
